The Reverend Dr. William M. Campbell, Jr. was born in the remote town of Milton in eastern Pennsylvania to a Methodist pastor and his wife. He has lived in the country of Bermuda and the states of New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Georgia, Florida, Texas and now Maryland.

He serves as the senior pastor of Union Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Brandywine, Maryland. There he continues the work of congregation and community building that began in his first two charges in Texas. Teaching continues to be a focal point in the ministry and the church’s bible study - Walking in the Word - is experiencing record attendance both in-person and live streaming. Pastor C, as he is affectionately called, has also conducted and participated in numerous mission trips regionally and globally to places such as New Orleans, Louisiana, and countries such as Jamaica, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Zambia, Swaziland, India and Kenya. In Nakuru, Kenya, he helped to plant the first A.M.E. Church - Bethel - which has now spawned into fifteen churches in that country.

He is the founder of Flaming Fire Ministries whose mission is “to evangelize the lost, equip the believers, empower kingdom leaders, establish local churches and edify assemblies of Christ-followers.” Since 1978, the Lord has allowed him to “share the Gospel of Jesus Christ through revivals, crusades, missions, conferences, seminars, books, teaching manuals, electronic media and technological tools.” He is the author of three books: Born to Dream, More Than A Conqueror, and Take it by Force. He also authored three teaching manuals entitled: Giving-Prayer-Fasting: Three Tenets of the Christian Faith, To Seek and Save That Which Was Lost and A Messianic Passover Haggadah: Looking at Our Faith Through the Eyes of Judaism. He is also a sermon contributor in the Athens & Oxford Sermons compiled by Dr. Joel C. Gregory and published by Hupomone Press.

He attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia and holds an Associate of Arts degree from Manatee Community College in Bradenton, Florida; a Master of Divinity degree from the George W. Truett Theological Seminary of Baylor University in Waco, Texas; and a Doctor of Ministry degree from the Drew Theological School of Drew University in Madison, New Jersey. His doctoral thesis was entitled: “Re-Envisioning the Mission and Vision of Anderson Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church.”
